Mobile prone...

On the way home tonight I was surrounded by people glued to mobiles.  One guy even had two on the go at once.  Eye contact was precluded, conversation a distant dream.  At the stop before mine, one girl alighted and strode down the street without even glancing from her screen for a moment.  Impressive.

What a treat it'll be to leave the little addiction device at home.

And so it begins...

It was more than a decade ago that my latent wanderlust was ignited when I first saw an image of Machu Picchu.  The universal cogs have turned in such a way that I find myself in a position to realise a long-held dream: an exploration of Peru and Bolivia.

This record is primarily for my benefit but if anyone wishes to tag along vicariously from time to time then you're most welcome.  I'd love to hear any thoughts or suggestions you might have.
